I just ordered my ten bags of soil, manure, cheap top soil and some other supplies. Free shipping with orders that exceed $99.00 and for me, that is easy to do.
I wanted to try something new with my veggies this year (the reason for the new soil and such) so I bought ten of the 10 gallon smart pots. Sort of like bucket gardening. With hub recovering from open heart surgery, I am trying to make it less time consuming (such as pulling weeds on a daily basis) and easier to get to.
I have heard nothing but good about these smart pots so I am hoping for the best here.
All my medicinals are pretty much left to themselves. Same with my herbs except the few I keep close at hand for cooking and such.
I wanted to to try to make composting easier too. I guess I am just preparing myself in case the plants have to be neglected here and there. I never know what is going to happen with hub and the last time he was in the hospital, I was there with him almost two weeks. Before that it was more than a month! So this year I thought I would rig a few things around in case another similar situation arises.
In any case, I am looking forward to the next 6 months and hope to spend more time with my plants and out in nature:)
